1998-2003: University Work Experience

A great deal of scientific work experience has been gained through projects and dissertations for my BSc and MSc. Through many practicals and tutorials focussed on protein structure and molecular biology I was enthused by the subject leading to a crystallography BSc project allowing an independent study to solve the structure of a molecule by X-ray diffraction. My Masters project was conducted as both a scientific study in addition to full web design and construction, at SigNetUK. Here I gained extensive experience of bioinformatics tools and databases adding to my bioinformatics programming skills.

BSc:
Dissertation :: Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin and her studies on biologically important molecules.
Project :: X-ray structure determination of Papaverine Hydrochloride.

MSc:
Dissertation :: The immune response: what bioinformatics has told us and how this information might be integrated into a view of the response to infection.
Project :: Identification of putative hedgehog-like signalling components in C. elegans.
